Just thought I'd show you how much of the photo shows through, and how much I paintover, in my paintovers. Hope someone finds it interesting/useful. When I makes stuff that looks alright I'm eager to tell/show others how I did it. I for one love seeing break downs and process of people's art. Hopefully I'm not the only one. And Remind me never to pursue a career as a magician, my tricks would never be a mystery. Haha.

Should mention that after painting over the background I applied several filters too it. such as blurring it and some of the artist painting ones, and some color adjustment.
so i'm really new to photoshop and trying to learn; could you tell me what the middle, really white-ish picture is about? Is that a filter or white paint-over or something else? What's the purpose. Also, looked at your tutorial, I LOVE love love it, thank you! It really helps out us poor noobs.
That was just to show how much was painted over in the photo manip. It's not a filter, I use a tablet, a new layer, a photoshop brush, and an eye dropper tool.
It is very interesting, this style of digital art.. I have more recently been very intrigued by it due to an inherent tendency to play with photos myself. The manipulation of reality, adorning it with the embellishments of one's imagination is simply a divine idea. I love that there are more artists that do this.
